Interview Preparation: Mock Interviews and Complete Feedback

Our main service · Coming soon

Know the subject.
Practise the interview.

You may know SQL and Python—and still struggle to decide where to start, what to explain and how to respond when an interviewer challenges your answer. Practise the conversation as well as the solution.

“Study SQL and Python” is only part of the advice.

In an interview, you also need to clarify an unfamiliar problem, choose a sensible method, explain tradeoffs and show how you know the answer is correct. Those are skills you can practise deliberately.

Our focus is the full answer: what you ask first, how you structure the work, what you say while solving it and how you handle follow-up questions.

A practical structure for answering

  1. Clarify the decision. “What outcome are we trying to explain, and over which period?” Establish scope before choosing a formula.
  2. State assumptions. Explain row grain, eligibility, missing data and definitions. Make uncertainty visible.
  3. Describe the approach. Give a short plan so the interviewer can follow your reasoning. Explain why it fits this question.
  4. Solve and validate. Work through the query, calculation or case. Test duplicates, edge cases and totals.
  5. Interpret and recommend. Separate what the data shows from what it cannot establish. Propose the next useful check.

You do not need a memorised speech. You need a clear explanation that fits the actual problem.

Practise the rounds that matter

Technical · SQL

Write it. Explain it. Check it.

Practise joins, aggregations, CTEs, window functions and date logic. Explain table grain, tie handling, nulls and how a join could inflate your result. Discuss alternatives instead of stopping when the query runs.

Example: “Find the top customers by completed-order revenue. How will you handle ties and refunds?”

Technical · Python

Show a reliable analysis workflow

Work through pandas filtering, merges, grouping, missing values and debugging. Describe intermediate checks and test a small input with a known answer. Explain code clearly instead of narrating every keystroke.

Example: “A merge doubles revenue. How would you identify the cause and prevent it?”

Technical · Statistics

Interpret the result with care

Practise sampling, distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis tests and experiment reasoning. Distinguish statistical evidence from practical importance, and correlation from causation.

Example: “Conversion rose in a test, but refunds also increased. What would you check before recommending launch?”

A central focus · Business rounds

Turn an open question into a decision

Practise metric drops, product funnels, retention, unit economics and prioritisation. Clarify definitions, break the problem into drivers, segment the change and identify the evidence that would support an action.

Example: “Revenue fell 10%. What would you ask first, which breakdowns would you investigate, and what would you tell the business?”

Behavioural · Communication

Explain your experience honestly

Build concise stories about decisions, mistakes, disagreement, ambiguity and collaboration. Use the situation, task, action and result structure while making your own contribution clear. Never invent impact numbers.

Example: “Tell me about a time your analysis was wrong. What changed after you discovered it?”

Career preparation

Prepare for higher-paying opportunities

Match your preparation to the role’s actual scope. Practise project deep dives, ownership, tradeoffs and communicating impact. Learn to discuss compensation using relevant market evidence and the full offer, not only its headline.

Preparation does not guarantee a job, a particular salary or an employer’s decision.

Practise, get feedback, try again

  1. Choose your track and goal. Share the role description and identify the round you need to practise. Remove confidential employer information.
  2. Work through the mock. Explain your approach and respond to follow-up questions. Treat uncertainty as something to investigate.
  3. Review the answer. Discuss technical correctness, structure, business judgement, validation and communication.
  4. Use an improvement plan. Take away the main gaps, a clearer answer structure and focused exercises for your next attempt.

Planned feedback includes an assessment of your approach and specific next steps. Session duration, scheduling arrangements and feedback delivery timing will be confirmed before bookings open.

Simple, transparent pricing

$15 for the first interview in each selected round, then $10 for each additional interview in that round. Select two or more interviews in total for 10% off the custom subtotal.

Compare with the fixed packages: 3 mocks for $29 or 11 for $79. Custom pricing gives you control over your round mix; it is not always the lowest price. Discounts do not stack with other plans. Any applicable taxes will be shown before payment.

Unlimited? $99 covers one selected round; $499 covers all round types. Both last until you land a job.

Before you book

Can I buy or reserve a session now?

Not yet. Checkout and bookings remain inactive while the service details are finalised.

Are these real employer interview questions?

These are interview-style practice exercises. We do not claim access to confidential interview banks or endorsement by employers.

Can I choose a weak area?

The service is designed around your target role and preparation needs. Identify whether you need technical problem-solving, business reasoning or communication practice.

Are PDF booklets included?

No. Explore the separate PDF products.

What happens if I cancel?

Before launch, review the refund and rescheduling terms. You may request rescheduling before a session starts without losing that session. A refund request is handled separately from cancelling an appointment.

Does this guarantee a high-paying job?

No. The purpose is better preparation, clearer reasoning and more useful practice. Hiring outcomes depend on employers, role fit and many other factors.
